Iter Persicum — meaning “Journey to Persia” — is the firsthand account of the perilous diplomatic mission sent in 1602 by the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II to the court of Shah Abbas I of Persia.

Based on the final version completed in 1610 and preserved in both manuscript and early printed forms, Iter Persicum remains one of the most important contemporary accounts of this remarkable embassy.
